Was Nixon a Good President ?
No. I don't think Nixon was a good enough president because although he helped restore our country in desperate times, he was secretive and kept important information to himself. He didn't care about what people thought about him and was even considered racist for not helping out in the racial equality movement. I also kind of hate him because he was a conformist and liked the idea of conformity, which I hate and even protested against the counter culture. To make things worse, he had an enemies list and took it a step further by wire tapping peoples phones. This isn't president behavior. In the end, people started realizing what he was doing and his crime became known so he quit because he obviously couldn't deal with the critisism he was getting from people. Nixon is only one example in my opinion of how corrupt the government is and im certain that Nixon wasn't the first or last president to pull off illegal stunts.

My opinion on the ERA
Back in the 1950's the ERA failed to become an official law in the Constitution. A lot of people opposed the ERA including most men and even some women who liked their roles in society as a housewife. Today, even though the ERA never became an actual amendment, women today are equal as men. They hold the same jobs as men, they can join the military, and they even have the right to become political figures in society. If the ERA were to be revived today, it might not be necessary because women have come a long way since the 50's. However, women still don't earn as much as men in the work force and they rarely become CEO's of major companies. I'm all for supporting equal rights for women because they have been kept down for so long. One other point is that although women have come so far in the past century in this country, this is not the case in the rest of the world. For instance, in places in the Middle East where there isn't a democracy, women are still treated as inferior compared to men. That needs to change.
